Marrakech Sahara Desert Tour One week tour in order to live wonderful experience in the Moroccan Sahara desert, you will have camel trekking ride, night in the desert; get amused by the Berbers music, watch panoramic views along the road, and more exciting things to happen. The tour will start and end in Marrakech city, crossing the high Atlas Mountains, Berber villages like Khamlia, Ziz valley and the valley of roses, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, Erg Chebbi dunes, Ouarzazate, and several places.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival to Marrakech

Our Marrakech Sahara Desert Tour will start at 8am; you will find that our tour driver is waiting for you either in the airport, a hotel, or a riad. After that, we will check-in a hotel there to have a rest then a delicious dinner at Jemaa El Fna, before going back to the hotel to stay the night.

Day 2 Marrakech Sightseeing

After taking your breakfast, there will be a one-day excursion to walk in Marrakech neighborhoods, quarters, shops, historical buildings, and the remarkable Jemaa El Fna square. We will first visit, The Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs, and then have lunch. The whole afternoon will be spent walking and having fun at Jemaa El Fna square, where you will find Snake charmers, storytellers, different sorts of food, fresh orange juice, musicians, etc. We will come back to the hotel at night, after having dinner at Jemaa El Fna.

Day 3 Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Today we’ll start our first day towards the sahara desert, leaving Marrakech to the Dades Gorges, crossing the high Atlas and Berber villages, in addition to Tizi-N-Tichka pass. Along the road, we will see the Unesco World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, the remarkable Glaoui Kasbah, which served as a setting for many Hollywood movies such as Gladiator, Taourirt Kasbah, and the Atlas film studios in our arrival to Ouarzazate, and the valley of Roses at Kelaat M’gouna. The first night will be in the Dades Valley, a wonderful place known for its rock formations that named as “Monkey Toes”.

Day 4 Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Rissani – Merzouga Desert (Marrakech Sahara Desert Tour)

After having breakfast, you will have a tour in the surrounded areas before reaching Merzouga desert, where we are going to stay a night in the hotel. We will walk in the Dades Valley, and in between the wonderful Todra Gorges, Erfoud, Rissani to eat a delicious Berber Pizza “Medfouna”, and then continue to Merzouga desert.

Day 5 Merzouga – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi Dunes (Marrakech Sahara Desert Tour)

We will walk in the desert, visiting the village of Black “Gnaoua”, who are originally slaves from Sudan, its name is “Khamlia”, to meet “Gnaoua” people and listen to their music; we may also visit Merzouga Lake, it depends on which time of the year, and then take lunch. After that, an exciting camel trekking to enjoy the sunset, and free your mind and soul to the high dunes of Erg Chebbi. A great place to spend the night while the Berber music is being played and a delicious dinner will be served under the stars.

Day 6 Merzouga – Alnif – N’Qob – Agdz- Ouarzazate (Marrakech Sahara Desert Trip)

The overwhelming scenery of the sun rising over the dunes will impress you; make sure to wake up early to watch it. After taking breakfast, and having a refreshing shower in Merzouga hotel, we will make our way to Ouarzazate to stay a night there, passing by several villages, Alnif, N’Qob Tazzarine and Agdz where you’ll have lunch in one of these villages.

Day 7 Ouarzazate – Marrakech

In the morning, we will depart from Ouarzazate, to the red city of Marrakech, via the high Atlas mountain villages, and Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass. In our arrival to Marrakech, our driver will drive you to the airport, or hotel, marking the end of the tour.
