Your desert day trip from Ouarzazate to Zagora with a pick from your hotel at 09h00 AM and drive south east to the oasis of Adz, where you will visit Kasbah Tamnougalt which used to be the house of the local tribe chief.
It was used by Brad Pitt to film the movie « Babel ». Share a cup of mint tea and fresh dates with the locals before we continue our drive along the magnificent Draa river with its hundreds of thousands date palm trees, Kasbahs and fortified villages. You will have the opportunity to do an hour walk in the palmeraie under the shade of lemon, almond, olive and palm trees watching the local taking care of their crops or herding their kettle. We arrive at the old Jewish quarter of Amezrou.

Upon arrival at Zagora, the last main town before reaching the dunes of Erg Chebbi, we will have lunch served at a Kasbah restaurant before we visit the sand dunes of Tinfou. A camel ride will be a must to experience the only transportation mean our ancestors had to travel from one point to another.

Day 1: Morning departure from Ouarzazate to M’hamid and the dunes of Erg Lihoudi passing by Agdez, where the Dra’a valley starts, with a short stop for a tea break. Later, we drive off-road along the Dra’a valley and the ancient road of caravans as far as Zagora for lunch. In the afternoon the route continues to M’hamid which marks the end of the paved road and the beginning of the Sahara desert. Here an hour camel ride leads to the dunes of Erg Lihoudi for an unforgettable sunset and to spend the beauty of the night in a desert camp close to Erg Lihoudi dunes.
Day 2: If you wake up early enough, you can watch the spectacle of the sunrise, when the colour of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. After breakfast, the return from Erg Lihoudi dunes to M’hamid is on camel back and, the trip begins by driving north to Tamegroute for a visit to the Koranic library. From here, the road leads north again to the kasbah of Tamnougalte for lunch. We arrive back in Ouarzazate, at the end of the day, on the other side of the Anti-Atlas and the mountain pass of Tizi-n-Tinfifite (1660m).Contact Now
